While the autumn comes slowly now, I thought that I want to tell you about the last month from our date in Rust. Although I have betrayed a bit about Rust in the last post, but this sweet town has earned an extra contribution.
Rust is some to be known from the television series “The Winzerkönig”. Who has never been in Rust it must necessarily have to see it. From Vienna it takes about 1 hour and you will not be disappointed. I think I even fell in love a little bit in this small town. Besides the numerous taverns there’s a great restaurant, which is at first glance a little hidden. The fine cuisine in Hofgassl. It passes through a wooden gate into an alley which was decorated with lots of love. Besides olive trees, mosaic table and a herbal garden there is a small fountain and wonderful flowers and a grapevine. In Hofgassl prevails a pleasant family atmosphere and although the restaurant is well filled one feels no distress. We just had the luck to get a table without a reservation because we had caught the transitional period from afternoon coffee before dinner. The staff is very attentive and polite. The meal was excellent. I had the hand-rolled pasta with chanterelles and chives cream.
I will be not back that soon in Rust, because I’m limited without a car, but if I will be there again we definitely eat lunch or dinner at the Hofgassl.
