The holidays are over and the new year has begun. But there are no new-year promises for a long time. Neither a end-of-the-year review. I’m not a woman of the old afterwards crying or making too many thoughts of tomorrow. I live in here and now. Would be a pity if I missed that. 😉

Yes, of course you take away old habits and bring new drive into the whole thing, but that doesn’t have to concentrate only ever at the beginning of the year. Under the year it would be possible too.

Likewise, I think it is a total waste of time and money when everyone run from one shop to another to buy gifts. This has nothing to do with a merry Christmas. This Christmas we had already set a price limit and the coming one is even celebrated without presents, since actually only a change of place of things and objects is accomplished. This doesn’t mean that we will not celebrate anymore, no there will be a Christmas tree, cookies and a Christmas dinner. Instead of giving presents, an “event” is organized within the family to spend time with each other. Each year a different family member will decide what will be done next year. Whether it is a snowshoe hike in the winter, a flight with a hot-air balloon in summer or a potter’s course in September, the time doesn’t matter. What is important – the date must already be fixed on the Christmas Eve and the action booked. So the event cann’t be forgotten. The advantage to the whole thing: so I’m off the hectic and enjoy the Christmas season, don’t waste my money meaninglessly and take my time for my family.

My hat and scarf, by the way, come from the sweet Boutique Majolie on Mariahilferstrasse in Vienna. One of the few shops on the MaHü, which still have the beautiful old Viennese charm. Majolie hasn’t only hats and scarfs, but also great leather goods and fashion accessories. Not to mention a nice old wooden gallery which makes my heart beat faster. 🙂
